The Software Program Managers Network (SPMN) has developed this package of materials to assist program managers and others involved in software development in implementing 16 identified critical software practices that, when correctly put in place, will improve your bottom line measures--time to fielding, quality, cost, predictability, and customer satisfaction.

Introductory Material

A brief introduction to these practices is given in a video by Norm Brown, Director of the SPMN. The background to the development of the 16 Critical Software Practices is reviewed.

The adoption of the16 critical software practices has been endorsed by Lockheed Martin as expressed in a video by Dr. William F. Ballhaus, Jr., Vice President for Science and Engineering, and by Mitretek as expressed in a video by Ms. Linda Stone, VP-Center for Information Systems.
